Ultimate Homemade Bong Contest Winners
Our biggest contest ever was a huge success! We got loads of entries and all of them were amazing. Who said stoners were lazy? From fruit to water guns, our readers have taken ghetto-tech’d smoking devices to the next level with incredible ingenuity and creativeness.
We’d like to thank all our readers who entered, and send a headie congratulations to Kyle from South Florida, whose tropical pineapple bong won the Grand Prize. Big ups to our 1st and 2nd place runner ups, Phil from California and Austin from Oklahoma.
Respect and thanks go out to Chronicle Books, who provided us with the sweet ghetto tech excerpts from the ingenious Build This Bong, as well as providing all the winners with a copy of the book. They also generously offered up copies of the fantastic book Marley Legend for the Grand Prize and 1st runner up. View all the stoner-friendly books they have by visiting them online at www.chroniclebooks.com.
HEADS is proud to present, for your viewing and smoking pleasure, all three winning entries. Congratulations once again guys. Now go get stoned!

Tropical Bong
Start by cutting the top off the pineapple and keep a few leaves for later.
Then using the water pressure technique, break the bottom out of a beer bottle.
Use the serrated edge of the now broken beer bottle to dig out a circle in the middle of the pineapple.
Next use a knife to cut the circle out about 2-3 inches away from bottom, make sure to take out the solid chunks but of course leave the pineapple juice.
Now stick the beer bottle in the hole you just made so that the neck sticks out, and then fill around the edge of the bottle with the pineapple leaves.
Finally, cut a tiny hole just low enough so that it goes under the bottle. Then take a piece of 3/8th clear plastic tubing about 3 inches long and stick it in at an angle and lastly stick in your slide.
You don’t need to add water because the pineapple juice works perfect.

I had to be quick to keep the video under 20mb, so it's kind of abrupt. I have been using this for 11 years now, and the same pieces still work.
Materials: One 2-liter bottle, one straw, a bucket, a bong bowl, and tobacco.
Cut the bottom off the bottle and puncture holes in each foot of the bottom.
Then insert it into the bottom of the 2-liter bottle at the bottom to prevent collapse.
Cut the straw to 3 1/2 inches or so. The tape is a marker, optional.
Cut a big hole in the hard plastic lid, and a slightly smaller hole in the rubber gasket that came inside the lid. The smaller hole must be just a little smaller than your bowl.
This bong actually filters through the water and bubbles too. The straw never melts, since it is under water most of the time and is now covered with a huge layer of resin anyway.
The rest is demonstrated in the video.

The Pressure Bong, which works on the gravity principle minus the water, delivers gigantic rips.
Materials needed for The Pressure Bong:
Push-pull pump water gun
Water bottle top
Water bottle cap
Bowl (Socket)
Tape
The specific materials used in the video are: a large size Stream Machine Water Gun, a Gatorade bottle top and cap, a 1/4-inch socket, electrical tape, and some Jack Herer.

I think the pressure bong is by far the most creative and would give the biggest rip.
